Reiki Therapy
Reiki is a technique used to heal and relax the client fully clothed. Reiki is based on the eastern philosophy of energy channeling. Through the use of this Japanese technique the practitioner can channel the energy by lightly touching with the hands the body of the receiver. Reiki is a holistic and powerful method of natural healing.
Reiki is a Japanese word meaning "Universal Life-Force-Energy" Reiki is composed of 2 kanji characters: Rei and Ki. The kanji characters Rei and Ki both have an old and a modern form. The "Ki" also stands for Chi or Qi, the Chines e word for the energy which underlies everything.
The Reiki practitioner places his/her hands gently and passively on different locations on the body, usually beginning at the head. Each position is held for at least five minutes. Unlike traditional massage, the Reiki practitioner does not use any form of manipulation of the bones, muscles or tissues --- the hands remain still.
